I’m really pleased that my simple road shot got people’s imagination going.
Today we said ‘au revoir’ to some great friends who have sold their farm and are shifting far north to here. They stayed in a family holiday spot nearby before driving away. This family spot in Waianakarua (5 ‘ A’s) has great geographical significance as seen. This is a huge cliff standing vertically above a lovely small river that never dries up. The river is underneath this green plateau with its dry stone wall at the end.
Three good things;
1. We got their leftovers - what they oouldn’t drive away with - frozen prawn, blue cod, chicken, smoked salmon, raspberries and so on! A veritable culinary treasure!
2. After sampling some of the leftover wines - in total a whole boxful - a hubby is having an evening snore while I watch the sun set over the gold rimmed clouds! And my life is colourful!
3. A new shirt aka blouse!
So green and beautiful and that rock face is stunning I love how you have chosen your moment to capture the sun on the treetops to each side A beautiful spot to sit and day dream !!
Lovely textures in the cliff face and wonderful contrast to the lush greenery. Sad that your friends are moving away. Hopefully you won't lose touch completely.
Beautiful green composition that looks so lush! Lucky you to get so many wonderful leftovers! And how is it that you pronounce that word with the five As?!
The colours in this shot are stunning Maggiemae. I am beginning to get withdrawal symptoms doing the B&W month but only another week to go and I am enjoying it.
Its always sad to see friends move but it does give one an opportunity for future holidays. This is a fantastic shot as I'M a rock lover. All the layers in this are great... So much geological history
