Fishermen of China by maggiemae

Fishermen of China

In Tianjin (pronounced as far as I can tell: shjhainjuin) and the smog is unbelievable! However the sun did try to come out and the temps went up to lying on the poop deck stuff! We didn’t choose to do any side trips as you all encouraged us to enjoy shipboard life - cocktails and piano!…. and champagne?
Anyway this was outside our window this morning - too good to ignore. Could have been Africa, India, Phillipines Costa Rica...etc.

Three good things:
1. Our waiter who was born in Germany, brought up in Croatia and had a Danish name told us he was a great pianist - but this was the opening - just a waiter at first. On board we have met English, Russian, Italian and French etc.
2. I had a great swim - nobody was watching except a young waiter from India who agreed with that sort of exercise - I was power walking in the deep water.
3. The smog was so bad that a monstrous container ship coming in puffing smoke had to go so slow…!
Great capture and very interesting motor!!

Hope the smog hasn't split your enjoyment Maggie, it does seem to be hanging around for a long time. I suppose it's the part of the world you are visiting. How odd to be swimming in a pool in an ocean! Water within water!
