Royal Exchange by maggiemae

Royal Exchange

In Manchester. A very grand interior which includes a complete theatre within. It has a checkered history having been burnt down, demolished, rebuilt and abandoned but today is a successful theatre.
Three Good Things:
1. A great lunch in Sam's Chop House - bread and dripping, roasted bone marrow.
2. A nice warm day.
3. Being locked out of the house but eventually found a spare key!
What a beautiful building... Goodness the lunch sounds a little high in Cholesterol... better not make it a habit..lol

These colours are really interesting with the architecture, and the fact it was consistently restored after each of those events is amazing to me.

@happypat Oh, that would have been nice, Pat! As it was we didn't know where we were going on that short visit in the afternoon. Went in by tram and had to be out again by 4pm - conditions of ticket!
