The Royal Ship by maggiemae

The Royal Ship

Mum's diary says, "In Dolgellau we got hopelessly lost in a back street - I had difficulty turning on a slope. There we spent the night at the Royal Ship Hotel - two candles as we slept!
This hotel has been extensively modernised inside but the outside would be as she saw it.

Good on Black.

Three good things:
1. Our room on the 3rd floor looked out on to this Square surrounded by the Welsh stone houses.
2. A super time at Conwy Castle even though it rained. (another photo)
3. Hearing my first conversation in Welsh!
Great shot, wonderful night time colours.

It's weird looking at these photos as its like looking at the illustrations later than reading the book! I hope you showed the staff the chapter which mentions their place! It looks very homely!

What a wonderful idea to revisit the places mentioned in your Mum's diary. It must bring you memories of a whole different era.

@busylady Well they weren't memories because I'd never done them, Judith - but they are now!
