Poppy to go by maggiemae

Poppy to go

Outside our bedroom window there is a poppy that was not planned. I watched it grow and didn’t pull it out. This morning there was a new flower with a ‘hat’ jauntily put on its side. Had to be quick with the camera as a short while later , the ‘cap’ disappeared and it was in full bloom.

Three good things:
1. A chimney sweep visited our house and I withheld the desire to sing chim chim cher - ee!
2. While I was mowing the lawn in my black singlet, the chimney sweep could see me from the roof! He tried to ignore me when I came inside!
3. NZ ’s boat got the overall win in the exciting Hobart to Sydney yacht race!
Beautiful focus.

What a posh looking lady with her jaunty hat !! A lovely poppy , focus and capture . I simply love the unusual colour --I remember this colour from your last year's shots !!. Seeds are scattere in the wind and sometimes birds carry them to new sites ! And poppy seeds can lye dormant for over an year coming to life again in 2 year's time ! I am sure you are pleased you did not pull up this plant !such a beauty

IMHO and/or colour blindness, I suggest this wonderful shade is more magenta than purple. Whatever its colour...nothing will change its beauty and how much we all appreciated seeing it!

@s4sayer Thanks Margo - you sent me on a journey to define the difference between purple and magenta! More pink in the latter.
