At the back of our property, there was an obvious and continual hum and I followed it to several huge bushes all flowering. So I set my speed and aperture. Deleted about 30 photos but in my quest to shoot a flying bee, I found a single butterfly.
Three good things:
1. About to take off on another Caravan trip, only about 2 nights away but looking forward to it.
2. John started singing, “Nursie, Nursie, I”m getting worsie”.. and I found the song - recorded in 1939!
3. Life is good!
A summer capsule! Gorgeous, you are very good at the flower photos I must say even if not a favourite of yours! Looking forward to more travels by John & Margaret!
Enjoy the caravan trip. Your title brings back memories, nearly as far back as John's. Gran had a grapefruit tree by the side of the house and when you walked around the verandah you could hear the bees and my cousins and I called it the humming tree. We were recalling the memory recently at a family funeral.
I like to wake up to a gorgeous picture like yours. we had rain all last night and now the roads are frozen. too dark at 4 am to see how bad it's out there
Ethel has posted a super butterfly shot also today. Not many in our neck of the woods at the moment. Enjoy your well deserved escape, the first of many doing what you want, when you want, as you mentioned a few days ago. We've found that 48hrs away from base can be more beneficial than a longer break as we take more, much more than we need. Whereas 48 hrs requires the minimum effort for maximum benefit. No brainer! Enjoy the change of air.
I looked for John's song but couldn't find it
