Bringing life to our garden outside (including the wheelbarrow in the background)

If you don’t know this saying - ‘All my eye….” look it up! I don’t know where I remembered these - didn’t live in Britain!

Anyway - it suits the photo hopefully?

Three good things;
1. Great sun all day.
2. “Darling Buds of May’ on UKTV!
3. The cat vomited everywhere tonight after being fed and I was fed up with that - got John to clean it up!
Good old John! What a lovely talking flower/wheelbarrow combo

I haven't heard this saying for years Maggie & yes it's one of ours! Perhaps your mum picked it up on her travels & said it to you? Love the way you remembered & wove it into your photo! Harry cleans the cat sick up in our house too! They come in handy sometimes these guys! I love a foxglove & yours are bending their heads beautifully, look like they're whispering!

Very clever and fun

@happypat I used to say "my eye and betty martin' but the true saying is "All my eye"! Funny!
January 15th, 2017
@beryl No she brings up her food more often than not, Beryl! 15 years of cleaning it up!
January 15th, 2017
@judithg Had to mention the wheelbarrow - you can see its not often used - almost indistinguishable in the weeds!
January 15th, 2017
Love your capture and brilliant annotations. Can't imagine where you dug that expression up from.
January 15th, 2017
A very humorous shot LOL

Well I learnt something today - never heard of that expression before. Thanks Maggie and google! I like the foxgloves too. I think I might find and old wheelbarrow or two in amongst my weeds and trees too.

I can only focus on the cat being sick.... bleugh!!! I have a kind of fatal fascination/phobia about sick, ever since being at primary school and the horrors of kids throwing up quite regularly.... (shudders in horror!)
January 15th, 2017
LOL! Poor John! Very amusing shot and I have never heard of that before :)

Bep
Love your capture! I'm not English, so I don't know the expression. But of course I asked Google for an answer.
Very interesting... http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-all3.htm

@gijsje Thanks Bep - I saw this article too! All very interesting!
January 15th, 2017
@jackie8 The cat just brings the food straight back up - never touches the stomach so its not too bad! But she won't touch it again!
January 15th, 2017
You're too funny!
January 15th, 2017
I don't know the expression but what a cute shot!
January 15th, 2017
Fun shot...I've never heard the saying so I did look it up :).
January 15th, 2017
I didn't know the saying cool shot
January 15th, 2017
Beautiful picture of your talking foxgloves and now I have learned a new phrase...whether I will remember it or not is another story
January 16th, 2017
@grammyn To me, the phrase is so familiar (why I haven't a clue other than I thought everything was total rubbish all the time) so I haven't forgot it!
January 16th, 2017
@maggiemae LOL. I just say "that's crazy" all the time.
January 16th, 2017
@grammyn That phrase can mean anything - a good saying!
January 16th, 2017
I love that saying! I'd never heard it before so looked it up as you suggested. I plan to use it a lot :) Cute shot too.
January 16th, 2017
Love this Maggiemae, makes me wonder what else is behind the beautiful foxgloves!. Never heard the saying, so googled it & very "interesting." Made me smile... John is GREAT!
January 16th, 2017
Very clever - and nicely done! So I did look it up, and am now further educated on alternate phrases. One of the things I really enjoy about this site is the occasional cultural uniqueness coming from the total international representation on this site. Thanks Maggiemae!

@stray_shooter Thank you Ron for including me in that turn of phrase!
January 16th, 2017
Great concept and saying! :-)

Lee
'I'll go to the foot of our stairs'.
January 16th, 2017
John's definitely a keeper if he cleans up after the cat! The saying I have not heard before although it is intriguing. on the other hand Lee's @gamelee saying is a real Northern saying and very familiar. Lovely fun shot
January 16th, 2017
Lol, it's a while since I heard that expression! Fun capture and interpretation.
January 16th, 2017
@gamelee @maggiemae Am familiar with ’my eye' and a simultaneous pulling down of a lower eyelid to indicate 'not on your Nelly', 'on yer bike', 'whata yer like'...a fav of R's, but not The Full Monty version as remembered here. TFM may of need some explication for those on the other side of the Pond! Am ducking ;-)

husbands are indeed useful
January 16th, 2017
@gamelee I know this phrase..but only very well!
January 16th, 2017
I love your talking flowers! I've never heard that expression before, fascinated by it.
January 16th, 2017
Cute processing. Pretty flowers.
