Wednesday Evening by maggiemae

Wednesday Evening

A day of memories and support. Our beloved cat was helped to become a memory rather than an agony watching her deteriorate and not being able to make any difference in her life! You just have to let go…!

Three good things;
1. It was a ‘worldwide photo day - at 5.47pm exactly and I appreciated the challenge
2. Nice warm day with sun and a lovely sky at this time today.
3. The candle is still burning…
Sorry for your loss. Beautiful image.

A lovely image. They become so much a part of your life. I curse my two cats at feeding time but acknowledge that it would be very strange without them.
March 15th, 2017
@motherjane Thank you Jane - today, this is the first time we have been without a pet for 50 years!
March 15th, 2017
It's one of the hardest things that we pet owners and lovers have to do, but knowing that there were 15 years of pure love, joy and happiness hopefully makes it a little easier to deal with. I hope my kitty, Charmin, and yours are batting around a mouse on a stick together in heaven and talking about how much they miss us. Lovely photo.

@stray_shooter Thanks Ron - thats nice to think about - Charmin and Caolila staring at each other - thats what they would do to start!

@maggiemae the blubbering is expected. An important part of the process
March 16th, 2017
@darsphotos Your comment is so right, Darlene! Her time to go! It was not long ago, I had to let my sister go and that phrase comforted me.

March 16th, 2017
this feels like a contemplative and serene shot. So sorry to hear about your cat. It is very painful and emotional to say goodbye to a pet but harder to see them suffer.

March 16th, 2017
Aww, sorry to hear that but I guess it's for the best. Hope you're ok. Lovely warm peaceful glow here for her.
March 16th, 2017
I called the church (United Methodist Church in Hamilton) and was told that the area once had a large African American population, and the cemetery had been neglected, fallen into disrepair, and forgotten. The concrete slab with all the headstones on it was built about 30 years ago because many of the headstones had toppled over, and they couldn't tell where exactly they belonged. So all those headstones are on the slab in memory of the deceased they belong to, and as a way to honor them.
March 16th, 2017
So sorry for the loss of your beloved pet ...wonderful that you have happy memories of her, and are comforted by knowing that she is no longer suffering.

Your pic is beautiful and poignant; such a warm lovely glow from the candle.
March 16th, 2017
So sorry for your loss, I know it can't be easy, your picture says it all
March 16th, 2017
So sorry to see this Maggie. Our pets are such a part of our family and it's history and to see them suffer is unbearable. You've made the right decision by her, I hope she is chasing birds and mice and having fun over the bridge.
March 16th, 2017
@jackie8 Its a nice thought to put in my mind after the last picture I had of her when she was very poorly! I've got lots of pictures, thank goodness!
March 16th, 2017
A beautiful image to remember your precious friendly cat.
March 17th, 2017
So sorry to hear about your beloved cat. Well done on a picture every day for six years!
March 17th, 2017
@busylady Its part of my routine now, Judith!
March 17th, 2017
Having lost 2 dear cats and a darling dog, I understand how you feel. Keep her safe in your heart in that place where time helps us to come to terms and accept much that is unwelcome, yet makes us strong and enables us to comfort others.
March 17th, 2017
@s4sayer Thanks Margo! Amazing that our hearts are big enough to hold all that is and has been dear!
March 17th, 2017
My condolences Maggiemae. what a beautiful candle tribute to your beloved cat. it must've been a hard decision for you to let her go, but knowing she isn't suffering any longer I'm sure will ease your pain. hold on to the wonderful memories and think of her often.
March 18th, 2017
@bruni I think of her every day, Bruni and hopefully only the good memories will remain! Thanks!
March 18th, 2017
Oh dear! What a difficult day it must have been for you. Always so difficult to do right by a beloved pet even when you really know it IS the right thing to do. Hope all your lovely memories keep her fresh in your thoughts.
March 19th, 2017
oh, kitty's gone. sorry for your loss, maggiemae.
March 20th, 2017
@summerfield Thanks Vikki - its a somewhat relief after 3 weeks of agony though! Trying to get her to eat something!
March 20th, 2017
So, somehow I got off track with your project and missed the sad but necessary event with your cat. It's a hard decision but you said it so well. When we can't make a difference in their lives it's not good to let them suffer. I think your candle is a nice way of depicting the day. Thinking of you!
