By Rail

I think its good to visualise scenes that are perhaps ordinary. Think of them as B&W or monochrome, sketched, high key, low key and they sometimes are more appealing.

Three good things:
1. This is just the railway around the corner. We can hear just freight trains coming through all day and night but not often. Depends where the wind is.
2. A mushroom on the lawn has got bigger and bigger. I think it will explode!
3. The computer when you forget things!
Love this scene and agree about B&W. We also live very close to a railroad track and here them day and night...just wish I knew when they were coming.

@dridsdale Think there is only a couple during the night and they go slowly so as not to make much noise!

The black and white brings out some drama in the sky. Would be fun to capture an exploding mushroom

a very appealing b&w!

B&W certainly brings out the best of the scene.

@salza Its still there and is now the size of a rabbit!

Good use of black and white Maggie, it really enhances the scene.

I really like this, Maggiemae! Nice contrasts of tone and the line through the image is interesting.

Quite a few rail lines in nz & we often drive over them but hardly ever see a train! This looks a very rural line! Nice tones!

This is lovely in b&w!

Love this scene -- looks so empty without a train and only the tracks leading me through the image.

Lovely tonal range...the clouds are so good for that in this monochrome shot.

@happypat Not so rural here, Pat - around that corner is the town centre! The foliage here belongs to the Dog Park and the Public Gardens!

The train just went through there! You know how I know?………… I can see his tracks!!! (;

Wonderful shot

@grammyn Ha Ha! Was he coming or going?

Looking at the thumbnail I thought it was snow I'm looking at. not in your area. B&W is perfect for this picture.
March 25th, 2017
You tricked me into thinking that was snow. Clever processing and great visualization.

@bruni @tonydebont Bruni and Tony - its that high contrast that I incorporated! Not snow but ..... it is getting colder!
March 25th, 2017
Love that touch of processing

March 25th, 2017
@maggiemae LOL! I'm not that good of a tracker!

Lovely bw
March 25th, 2017
It is dramatic in B & W.
March 25th, 2017
Great B&W
March 25th, 2017
b&w certainly gives this frame a lot of bewitching loneliness.

I really like what you've done here. FAV
