A glass full of goodness by maggiemae

A glass full of goodness

I was practicing getting focus through water which didn’t much work. But the sunset did probably because of the good light.

Three good things;
1. This was just water and I was holding the glass.
2. I refilled the glass later (not with water) but the sunset disappeared. Wonder if wine would work as well.
3. Soup made with bones.
Excellent shot. Love it. Fav

How beautiful, Maggiemae.

@alophoto Thank you Amanda - might have been a harbinger of the snow forecast for the next day!

Bep
Lovely shot.
#2. Maybe you can try again tomorrow ;-)
April 29th, 2017
@gijsje Snow forecast today, Bep! Cloud and rain don't make good sky photos! But the wine in the glass just may happen!
April 29th, 2017
very creative maggie, i like the reflections in the glass
April 29th, 2017
It's good to tinker and experiment. Gorgeous colours in this Maggie.......

Wine would be miles better, think of the richness of red wine! Experimental time tomorrow? Soup weather then? I am not a good soup maker as harry is very easy to feed with soup as he only likes the packet minestrone!! My sister in law is horrified I don't make soup!
April 29th, 2017
A very impressive shot considering you were actually holding the glass while you were taking the photo. I don't think my hands are steady enough to do something like this.
April 29th, 2017
@happypat I think wine would make it murky but we will see. Unfortunately no sunsets tonight - rain all day and cold. The downside of boiling bones for soup is what to do with the bones! There are rats around in the neighbourhood!
April 29th, 2017
This is lovely, if you wanted a pink focus, rose wine would work. Ha!
April 29th, 2017
@grammyn I'm just the same - particularly my left hand, Katy! Quite surprising I got this one - took 3 shots at the same time and one was OK.
April 29th, 2017
@louannwarren Now I'll have to go out and buy a pink wine! More popular nowadays!
April 29th, 2017
Awesome sunset!
April 29th, 2017
@maggiemae clever of you to take three at once
April 29th, 2017
Such beautiful sunset and colours in your wine glass -- you are experimenting a lot with your photography these days Maggie , wish I had the inclination and oomph !!
April 29th, 2017
Beautiful, great effect
April 29th, 2017
Great image and light in that glass of water :)
April 30th, 2017
@grammyn In my camera settings - the 'Drive Mode' - there are a number of options and one is called "Bracket (Cont):10sec.3 Img." Choose that and the camera does the three shots automatically!
April 30th, 2017
@beryl I have the time, Beryl but also want to do something different.
April 30th, 2017
@maggiemae Ill have to look for that and try it
April 30th, 2017
@grammyn You can then use "Photomatix Essentials' to HDR it...
April 30th, 2017
So cool and creative!
April 30th, 2017
Clever way to capture the sunset!
April 30th, 2017
Yes- I think wine would work too- but take the picture BEFORE you drink it. (o:

Fav for creativity and the lighting! I like it!
April 30th, 2017
@mikegifford Thanks Mike - the creativity came from googling and the light came from the God of the Skies!
April 30th, 2017
Lovely lighting

Beautiful evening image! Love how the liquid picked up the reflection.
April 30th, 2017

April 30th, 2017
Great photo! The only thing I like about cold weather is making soup. I love to make soup.
April 30th, 2017
Cheers! Love this idea and execution.
April 30th, 2017

May 1st, 2017

May 1st, 2017
Cool effect. Exploring has great consequences . You never know when you use something you learned in a different scene.

@habit I agree totally, Jimmy! And .... I love change, which helps!
