A long drive to this place set in a desert scene - Hesperia is its name and its not too far from a dry lake bed where the first of the motorbike trials are going to take place. Motorways are all around with a constant stream of vehicles.
Three good things;
1. So many hamburger places all around - if you don't like the hamburgers you can just eat the filling. There are calorie counts on all the dishes at all places.
2. Already I miss the wonderful scenery of NZ when you drive - no places to stop and have a picnic meal here!
3. Sometimes we have even had tea bags to use!
There are plenty of wide-open spaces in this country where you can sit down and take a picnic meal anywhere. you have to get away from the cities though. You probably have to get off the main highway is too. I'm looking forward to sharing your adventure with you. This is an excellent evening shot
I have to laugh- the Golden Corral is not one of the U.S.A.'s best restaurant chains! Whenever Jeff sees one of their commercials he goes into a litany of how bad their food is! Oh, it's tasty enough but it must be made with every preservative known to man. And ditto to what Katy said- there are plenty of places here to pull over and have a picnic. You just won't find them on the main highways in the city. Nice night shot.
