The nights at these camping places are surprisingly quiet. Last night all alone in the field there were thousands of stars in the night sky. Didn’t get up for a photo though. Onwards to the Blossom Festival and over the mountains past a little tiny shepherds hut in the hills that has been well kept and I get a photo each time.
Three good things:
1 The camping ground here in Clyde is just by the swiftly flowing and completely silent Clutha River - went walking and was accompanied by little fantails.
2. A major attraction here are the “Round The Clock’ races. There is a clock face high on the surrounding mountains and teams and individuals race up to it and round then back down. We were placed just right to see it all - in comfort
3. Plugged in just when our computers were going flat. A lot of things are firsts in this van and so far we have met the challenges!
What a fabulous landscape with the snowclad mountains in the background and that little jewel of a shepherds hut just sitting there facing the sun . A lovely composition and capture . That quiet night sleep must have doe the trick -- big fav
@aglennc In the 19th century, Anita it was a shepherds hut. Very basic - heaven knows where the toilet was - none inside which was virtually just one room!
@maggiemae Fascinating. I have cousins who raised sheep in northeastern Wyoming in the early 1900s. Instead of cabins, they had what they called a sheep wagon...... Everything from a cook stove to a bed. It might have been the first "mpotoorhome" but I''m sure they didn't call it an RV, however -- recreational vehicle.
It a beautiful wee cottage and I have this photo framed and on my lounge wall... made me do a double take when I was scrolling through this morning .. look forward to seeing shots of the blossom festival..
@grammyn Top Dressing ... means putting on fertilizer usually in this hilly country by aeroplane.. http://365project.org/julzmaioro/365/2017-05-22
We do it on our farm as it is pretty steep and the job is done in a few hours as opposed to trucks or tractor that would take day's..
@julzmaioro thanks Julia. We may have this in the states too. I know they do it with insecticides and after having just looked it up apparently they do it with fertilizer too. In the United States we call it cropdusting.
What a gorgeous spot and glad you are having a good experience with your van. We have a 19' 1999 van RV that is still new to us and we always are delighted when it takes us someplace without any problems
