A worrying day - our son in Japan ended up in hospital with a pulmonary embolism. So good that we keep in touch via email. He’s having treatment and in this hospital amongst …… “(the care is very good here with a personal nurse, the rest of the ICU nursing staff just metres away, lots of bleeping monitors and scrolling graphs, comfortable motorised bed, all the oxygen I want, and permission to use phone and iPad) will move to a normal room from tomorrow. “
Three good things;
1. instant emails
2. google for information
3. This lovely blossom tree coming out in blossom - but - with leaves which doesn’t often happen!
4. I found my diary from 1960! I was 18…. heavens to betsy - no more said!
Goodness Maggie that sounds terrible, your son is young to have that! Japanese hospitals will be top notch & they will watch him like a hawk so hopefully all will be ok very soon. A diary when young...ooh how I would love to read that! I have one written in early married life, I cringe now when I read it! Beautiful blossom!
@happypat All I worry about is the accurate translation from Japanese to English from the Doctors, Pat. John has some Japanese but certainly not medical. Hopefully the doctors do know English. I'm not sure I like reading that diary - too full of difficult moments!
A beautiful capture and presentation of this gorgeous blossom Maggie ! I hope your son will be well again soon -- it sounds as if he is in the right place and taken good care of !
I hope that your son recovers quickly enough to be transferred if need be. This is a wonderful spring blossom; as we head tthrough autumn it is a promise of what it to come. Japan has lovely cherry trees I believe.
@maggiemae I'm the same with my diary! I don't think you need worry about Japanese language in hospitals, the Japanese are very learned & knowledgable, Jack had hardly any Japanese & is coping magnificently as they are so good at learning English. Medical interpretation will be so important but they will take no risks I'm sure.
Oh dear Maggie, I do hope he is okay. It must be so distressing for you. He seems to be receiving excellent care though.
A pulmonary embolism could have been on the cards after David had his deep vein thrombosis earlier this year, but it ended up with a bleed on his brain instead. He is fine again now though but worrying for a while.
@hjbenson Not in the diary - its a little leather bound book with a lock on it - fortunately, not locked. But I do have photos in an album! All black and white of course!
Beautiful flower. Welcome spring. Glad to hear your son is doing better. I know it must be stressful to be so far away. Technology is great for keeping in touch
@grammyn You are dependent on words sent so its not possible to know if this is true or not, Katy! Maybe we can FaceTime - don't know if the hospital will allow that... we will have to see!
@gardenfolk Thank you Madam CC - happy to say - he feels fine - is being well looked after, has permission to use his iPad and phone and there is wifi in the hospital! Sounds wonderful but he is a bit bored.... and that is why I'm sending him a story a day!
@olenadole Thank you Nadiya - he is feeling and looking good now (from our FaceTime talks) but has to stay in hospital to be monitored. Those nast clots have to disappear!
