I do find solace in what my 365 friends say! My son has to stay in hospital for 2 weeks and I am sending him a story a day - from his childhood books. Scanning is good!
This is a rhododendron given to us on the death of our beloved golden retriever, McDuff. It huddled amongst other rhodos for a few years, then we transplanted it for making a RV parking area.
Three Good Things;
1. Its come away so beautiful!y! Instead of about 2 flowers it had dozens. Not sure of the type. I love the pink shades amongst the cream! And in amongst the forgetmenots!
2. Reading my 1960 diary, I was amazed at how boys were part of this. I was only 18 but still thought a kiss was a major event.
3. John and I talked about those days -a really different place from today!!
Lovely capture...That's a long hospital stay for your son. I'm sure the daily stories will boost his spirits. #2 As a late bloomer, I felt the same way.
Pretty shot. I hope your son is on the mend. We were talking yesterday about how different things were when we were younger - change can be good, but not all change is good.
Such a lovely and delicate bloom ! Your son is at the right place to have everything sorted out and medication monitored - so important ! All best wishes to you all during this traumatic time ! Take Care Maggie ! xx
Your rhododendron obviously is loving its new home, can't believe the different colours there. Sounds scary, all those clots,where did they come from all of a sudden? One thing that's good is that they will sort out why & will be monitored all the time in the future, good warning signs. You sound a lovely mum looking after your boy, Japan is about twelve hour flight I believe, I have been checking as we might go via Japan to NZ next time. A kiss was a BIG thing! I remember almost fainting when I had my first proper kiss! We were very innocent in those days! Good wishes to your son.
Thinking of you...difficult time for you... he's in the best place.....and how they sort everything...I too was a late bloomer..grow up far too quick now a days.
@happypat Johnny thought he had strained his achilles tendon by jumping too far into the pool in Las Vegas when we were all there. It turned out to be a torn muscle and a number of clots were discovered there. A clot factory, he called it! On meds to dissolve these. And had a filter inserted. I just hope Masami can cope with the children without their Dad's monitoring - homework, food, no tv or games etc.!
nice colour and composition - I remember 1960, I graduated from high school and joined the US Air Force, not realizing at the time how young I really was. :)
Beautiful blossom- don't know enough about the different kinds of Rhododendrons- they're all Rhododendrons to me! So sorry to hear about your son, but so glad they caught that before those clots started to travel through the veins!
Thinking about you all. About 4 years ago R's son had Meningitus which was more traumatic by him too being at some distance from us, like your son. He's made a 100% recovery. Stay positive, you're in our prayers.
@s4sayer Thanks Margo - we had a FaceTime chat with him last night and he looks good. Its just the danger of the clots that is the big thing! So good to have FaceTime. Skype seems to have gone out the window!
@flowerfairyann Thanks Ann - he will recover but as he does so much in the home as his wife is away all day working - in the weekends too (the Japanese madness of working) the children will have to behave themselves all by themselves!
Fascinating to look back and see things about yourself that you either don't remember or hadn't realized
