Further north up the East Coast towards Napier, we stopped for a delicious piece of bacon & egg pie for lunch. A very long and wide beach with some surfers further down. Looking north here.
Three good things:
1. Have found ourselves in mosquito country and I was the sacrificial lamb. Got bitten in the night all over the place and John had no bites at all. Tonight we will spray before setting the insect screens
2. My fall has probably given me some cracked ribs - I can't bend down to put my shoes on. Good thing, John will do it!
3. Our evening site was right beside the stony beach. Ahh, I thought - go to sleep with the sound of the waves! ...then after some hours of no sleep I decided it was like being on a motorway! Good that we are moving today!
The tranquillity and beauty of this scene belies the story you tell with your 'good' things all three of which I am truly sorry to hear. I actually think that this capture is magnificent and hope that it will in some way compensate for your suffering. I particularly like the colouring, and the line left behind by the retreating waves, and that small distinct figure walking alone into the distance.
Such a lovely scene ! shame about the pebbly beach and the sound of the waves - perhaps to peace and quiet in your pastures new !! Hope it is only bruised ribs ! and hope you will feel more comfortable soon !
So beautiful the way the hills reach down to the beach, I love this lovely beach scene & the misty sea spray view. Big fave! Will have to check out that fall, I must have missed a day!
What a beautiful scene! Mosquitoes! Oh no! If there is one about it will bite me! You have my sympathies! Sounds like you did some damage in that fall! Hope you feel better soon!
Lovely beach, shame about the mozzies. We had a mozzie in our bedroom last night, but I found the bugger and sprayed him or her before she got to bite us.
Calling them three good things seems a stretch today!
sorry to that it wasn't just bruising and that you have fractured a couple of ribs. Take care and hope you heal soon.
