Through Gisborne with its seagulls and wide beaches up the Pass a fair way to a sweet little place called Matawai. Grassy knolls but power and wifi. They even have an EV charging zone! We sit here amidst thunder in the hills and rain on the roof and think how lucky we are!
Three good things:
1. A full gas tank means I can make a special dish in the oven. Potatoes and carrots, onion, peas. cheese and very stale french bread.
2. Still have pain from the broken ribs and now my back has gone out but my new medication for the facial pain is a miracle.
3. We saw a weka grazing around our van - wanted to give him very stale french bread but thought he might choke!
Ha ha !! this tickles me with three gulls looking out to sea while the other two are fed up of the sea breeze in their face and have turned their backs to the sea view .
Wonderful focus, dof...great leading line #2 Did I miss that you had a fall and broke your ribs? If so, so sorry! I hope you are mending and are feeling less pain.
Had a similar shot many years back of seagulls lining the posts of the Lake Champlain Ferry at Burlington. Great shot! I've been off a few days thanks to Hurricane Riley- you broke your ribs??! Oh dear! That is very painful. I hope you feel better soon!
They don't look like Blackpool seagulls! These are sort of county bumpkin seagulls but they look nice & calm & quiet not like the mad thieving gulls in Blackpool which will dive in & snatch your chips out of your hand!
Glad your facial pain is eased & must be quite cosy in your home on wheels!
Love the birds lined up on the posts for you. I must have missed your post about broken ribs, bad back and facial pain?!? Ouch! Did you take a tumble? Hope you feel better soon!
@gardenfolk Took a tumble - hospital visit, X-ray 2 broken ribs.. bother! But facial pain has been a huge problem and now diagnosed properly! I'm feeling so good I could bounce!
@maggiemae I am glad you are feeling good! Must be the meds! I hate tumbles! I did that 3 years ago...tripped and fell on my face...needed stitches under my lip, broken nose, scuffs and bruises...and a concussion! I had two ER visits and an ambulance ride...no fun!
Delighted to read you have relief from the facial pain - how wonderful. Hope everything else settles soon for you too. This is a great image, really made me smile. I do love gulls in a row like this. I always think they are plotting mischief!
Beautiful capture and great dof. Is this in b&w or is that natural lighting? I must have missed a few of your posts. I wasn't aware of your mishap. I know what a broken rib means - I had one broken a few years ago and it was so painful until it mended - I still cannot sleep on that side for long. Hope your recovery will be speedy.
supper sounds delish. I had to look up Weka. Thanks for broadening my knowledge!
Glad your facial pain is eased & must be quite cosy in your home on wheels!
You may have pain in your ribs, back and face but be thankful you are not a pain in the neck. ha ha
