We arrived back on the East Coast and the skies were blue but not my lips! Quite warm and we enjoyed the gradual slope down to Christchurch increasing our economy greatly.
Three good things:
1. Right next to one of the many Golf courses here and we watched the men (seemed to be only men on Fridays) shake hands as they finished the 18th hole!
2. Couldn’t to the TV for some reason but we found a repair centre not far away and hey presto - its fixed! Doesn’t happen in many places in NZ!
3. I spilt coffee from a takeaway cup which lid wasn’t fixed properly. Right down my aged trousers which I had already decided to be relegated to Garden Gear. A little shop on the way had a great display and I am so pleased with my choices!
When I was a horse-crazy youngster, I thought Harewood golf course was such a waste of space - I wanted to gallop my horse across all that turf instead.Good to see some nice light here.
I just reread my comment1 What a mess. It was supposed to say you CAUGHT some spectacular LIGHT but apparently you figured it out anyway! Sorry. Sorry too that now you have grey and rainy!
Enjoy your new clothes! I rarely buy clothes but it always feels nice to wear something new. This is a fun shot. I'm not a golf fan but people who love it, really love it! It does look a nice fresh air pastime here.
@casablanca I’m with you! Only buy new when the old is covered in coffee stains! I’ve tried golf but seem to hit balls about 2 metres in front of me! But they turn up in the rain!
@maggiemae Ha ha, isn't that just the way? Can't find something for love nor money and then when it rains or you're not looking anymore, there they are!!
We left town for a week one time and Jerry forgot my hanging clothes bag, I happily bought several new outfits at our destination! Golfers play golf in every season, they don’t seem to mind wind, rain, snow, ice!
You have new trousers? I bought a new pair today too, summer ones & they are much brighter than I normally wear, dare I go out in them I wonder? A sort of coral colour! You won't be able to miss me! Looks great golfing weather!
@maggiemae Well that was my worry, if I had anything to wear with them. I wanted to brighten myself up this summer but I will try them at home with some tops if I change my mind they can go back for a quieter colour.
@happypat I'm afraid my new trousers are just plain charcoal! Goes with everything and I've a new grey top. I suit grey, apparently - its not the colour of my nature!
Just waiting for the weather to be officially warm enough to borrow a cart and photograph golfers for the township newsletter. My grandfather loved golf and built his home right next to the tee for the 18th hole. He loved to sit on the front porch and ask the golfers how they did. Nice shot.

Glad to hear the only thing that got ruined was your pants, trousers, and nothing else
