A new business is starting in li’l ole’ Oamaru - a world class whisky company has called for investment in its business and this great historic old building is going to be it’s drawcard. It was once a hotel but faded after the gold rush, and hasn’t been occupied for a century or more. Built in 1880 and has great historic influence.
Today was open day for The New Zealand Whisky Collection and I was able to go inside this old Oamaru stone building. This will be good on the Black!
Three good things;
1. This Company was the one that labelled a great malt whisky after John’s Dad called “The Spirit of Munro’
2. We have invested in this Company as well as buying a cask which is 20 litres and will be bottled in 2 years or after as we want it. With our own label!
3. This is the front door looking out on to the street. The views from the upstairs windows look right down on the Harbour and precinct. All small single rooms.
Love this stained glass window used as a frame. A modern version of stained glass! The whisky company looks like it’s picked the perfect place, beautiful stone building & the Indian bike link too. 20 litres is a lot of whisky!
@grammynThanks Katy! Getting the background street clearly as well as the lovely colours of the old door windows took a bit of thought! A lower aperture.
