Which wattle? by maggiemae

Which wattle?

I took this for the wattle that is evident through the gates and then noticed the one behind it! This may be the reason, I'm sneezing and John's eyes are scratching.

When I looked at the picture, the tree trunk in front of the wattle stood out - a lovely silver birch!
It's Golden Rod doing us in over here! Kleenex is a good stock to invest in right now! hehe

That's one impressive wattle. My husband is starting to complain about hay fever with everything flowing at the moment. Birch are attractive trees.

Nicely captured and good question, I have about five different wattles in the immediate neighborhood.

Very lovely trees - but what is a wattle?

@jankoos It is a tree, Jan sometimes called a thorn tree or an acacia. Has brilliant yellow flowers the come out all over the tree! The pollen flies from the flowers at times and can cause allergies if one is sensitive to it!

Lovely shot with the gates inviting one through. Thank you @jankoos for asking, if you hadn't I would've. Thank you @maggiemae for the explanation.

Spring is on it's way... I am sure that's what is giving you both allergies.

@tremerryn I'm sitting at a dark window now looking at a Big Cold Front approaching! On another side is a bright fire and soft lighting! Bliss!

Very impressive colour, You need a mask.

Lovely shot of the trees starting to spring forth even if it give you the sneezes. The gate was a perfect choice to frame the shot. In Alabama we get covered in pine pollen in our Spring. It sounds as if this is very similar.

@maggiemae - thanks Maggiemae - I seem to remember there being acacia trees in Cornwall - will have to google that. I bet they are pretty when they are in flower.

A beautiful entrance to someone's house & very tall & golden coloured trees...I don't think we have these trees in this country or if we do they have another name. Sound like they are full of pollen too if you are allergic to them.
