Good Morning maggiemae.....I went to bed with your serious & got up with your smiling one!!! To be truthful I like them both , although completely different the other had more gravitas but that is a lovely smile!!
@happypat Goodness, Pat, - its only 8am! Where you are! Thanks for your response! The main reason was to learn how to organise lighting for an indoor shot so there were no shadows or obvious creases on the face as I know I have! This is processed with picmonkey using the daguerrotype (sounds like going to war undercover) option ( In "effects") then choosing, "Shiro". Try it and see what it does!
Ooh Maggie mae I do love this one That beautiful smile that light s up the whole face Your eyes have a real twinkle in them !! And the whole portrait ha come to life Brave of you to experiment in front of such critics -but friendly comments. I wonder if I would be so brave as you-- my face is rather haggard at the moment after my op -- but I wonder if Picmonkey would be kind to me !!
It's amazing how a smile can alter a face. I much prefer this shot but not only because of the smile. I think the focus is better and I like the sepia xx
It's always got to be a oolong one, although faces in repose tell a story too. I just think you came across as a bit solemn in the other photo, although good for you for experimenting and putting yourself out there!!
I like this one best also. Love your smile and the monochrome color you used. Just missing the right side of your hair but a really perfect photo other than that. Nice idea to experiment as that is how we learn what to do to get the best photos. FAV
Burn out is probably not a technical term but having trouble with words tonight
