Actual beach.... by maggiemae

Actual beach....

...where I took my other seaweed photo on my 365 site. I'm not sure I like the way I have darkened that photo as the beach is really golden. Yellow-eyed penguins come on to this beach, called Bushy Beach after 3pm.
A perfect spot for a yellow eyed penguin, they couldn't have picked a nicer beach! Lots of cover for them to do their thing!

I can't imagine going to a beach and seeing penguins! This is a gorgeous beach and I love how you have framed the water!

Oamaru is awesome, loved visiting the Penguin Place there recently. Shame you can't take your cameras in, but I guess some people can't be trusted with flashes! Great shot.

I love this processing!

Beautiful photo. Love how I feel like I'm peeking through the bush to see the beach. I would love to see some penguins on our beach.

I like how you processed this - like a painting.

Pretty shot- looks like a nice beach for a stroll and even more fun to watch the penguins come in (from a distance of course).
January 9th, 2015
It looks lovely! It's quite bright, but I'm guessing that was what you were intending in the processing.

This looks like a beautiful area

What pretty colours. I like the sneaky peak at the beach through the trees.

A lovely glimpse of the beach. Where exactly is Bushy Beach? We will be down that way in Feb with some friends who I know would love to visit places like this - especially if there are some penguins about!

@pitasmum Its just south east of Oamaru and well signposted from the historic part of Oamaru. About 8 minutes drive. But the main attraction here is the Little Blue Penguins who come ashore at dusk right in the Harbour - around 150 of them. They are adorable!

Love this shot and how you've caught the difference in the colour of the sea, brilliant

Just makes you want to run to the sea!
January 9th, 2015
Beautiful.
January 9th, 2015
@neatz Its a very steep cliff path, Anita - you can' possibly run and if you are like me - aged legs - you edge down gradually trying not to slip!

looks a beautiful location maggie

Would love to see the penguins. Why the odd name after 3pm?
January 10th, 2015
@eyesmile Not sure what you mean, Gena?

Lovely shot, Maggie. Too bad you can't get the penguins on camera. Maybe stick a motion sensor video cam in a tree?
