Pride

This was the start of a March organised to protest against cuts to our Oamaru hospital! We need this in Oamaru as it has great services and the helicopter brings you here first! It was planned a 5% cut for this hospital!
There were 2500 supporters in this March and I saw from my photos that they were sincere but also enjoyed the 'get-to-gether"
What a grand display of solidarity against these cuts -- These cuts never make sense do they - The National Health here in the UK is also in dire state --so many cuts yet building and building more residential sites !! I shall not go on my soap box now !! Good photo Maggiemay , and I hope the ones in charge will listen to sense !!

When I first saw this picture and your title I thought maybe it was a Gay Pride parade, but upon further reading I realized my mistake!! ;-))) Do love those kilts, though.... I am glad they are protesting against the cuts, especially when it involves health care.

@boxplayer I don't think its going to happen - the main authority has no money! It needs political intervention!

@panthora Why can't the Government allocate more funds to these rural hospitals rather than donate thousands of dollars to other countries who get tons of support from all round the world!

I hope it does't happen Maggie we are having exactly the same problem. Excellent local facilities bing centralise to somewhere miles away.

Same issues here. Nice documentary shot

The trouble is, when they cut from places like this (important places) they add somewhere else. I wonder who is profiting in this instance?

Great shot, Maggie. I do hope that the march was a success and they left the hospital alone.

Protests like this are taking place everywhere as hospital budgets are cut. This is a particularly colourful one!
