Today was my dad's birthday. He would have been 81 this year. It's been too long to be without him. My sister and I went to the library today, a fitting way to spend the day ... dad would have approved. He was a librarian, a scholar, a walking encyclopedia ... I saw this old card catalog in the Genealogy department and was transported back to my childhood. Of summers spent at the library while dad worked. Of filing things according to the Dewey Decimal System ... of days much too far in the past. I miss you every day dad ... every day.
