My mother-in-law used to make these yarn balls for her boys to play baseball in the yard... they could hit them as hard as they wanted and they never left the yard. As she got older she still made them for grandsons and anyone else who wanted them and Marvin ended up with about 10 or so of them. Maggie totally loves her yarn ball! She will play fetch for a long time and then just wants to chew on it for awhile. We never let her have it without one of us close by because, as you can see, it is becoming kind of "loose" and we don't want her to choke on one of the strings. Won't be long before we have to pull out a fresh one :)
