Today is my Mother-in-law's birthday... she would have been 101 today. She wore these cute little crocheted hats every day in the years before she died, and this one was always my favorite... she looked beautiful in pink. I was unable to attend her funeral because I had hip replacement surgery less than a week before, and when Marvin got back from the funeral he had this hat for me... it will always be a treasure and I have it hanging near my desk where I see it frequently... a wonderful reminder of a wonderful mother-in-law.
I love it when people keep their flare, even as they age. Your mother in law sounds like one of those people. What a shame to have had to miss her funeral.
@2thgirl I wish everyone could have a mother-in-law like mine... It killed me to miss her funeral, but it was 60 miles and in a church with stairs... and I wanted Marvin to be able to focus on the service and the rest of the family/friends instead of having to worry about me overdoing or having to leave early for me. My parents came to "babysit" me and that was very nice, too.
