Scherenschnitte by marilyn

Scherenschnitte

A gal in town used to do a lot of Scherenschnitte (shear-n-SNIT- a) and I was fortunate enough to find this Christmas picture at a craft sale many years ago. It has become one of my treasured Christmas decorations. I have no idea how many hours went into this, but I know it is more than I would want to spend.

Dorrena Ortega's December Challenge:
Saturdays - Decorations and ornaments
It is amazing how skillful some people are with a pair of scissors - beautifully presented

@hjbenson Thanks, Harry... I would love to have some of the skills others have... but I would probably run out of time to do it all, anyway! :)

All that close detailing would be enough to drive you crazy, but the end product is beautiful

Whoever did this one was awesome! I have tried it in the past and it takes great patience and attention to detail. Your picture and framing of it make it a true piece of art for Christmas.

This is beautiful and to think it was all done with a pair of scissors!!! It must take lots of practice, a beautiful shot.

@dmortega So are you going to try it?

@digitalrn I know I do not have the patience for it!

@grammyn Thank you so much... I had a hard time getting the picture to be straight and this one isn't great, but it was the best of the bunch... The frame that is shown is not the frame on the picture itself, but I wish it was because I really like it better!

Um, no. ;-)

@leananiemand Thanks, Leana... practice and patience both, I think! :)

@marilyn I thought it might be a photo frame because you always do that so well!
