Whale Video

We went out on a 68-foot sailboat for a snorkeling excursion near Puerto Vallarta during our recent cruise. On the way back to the ship we spotted a group of five humpback whales so we had a fabulous unplanned whale-watching excursion in addition to our snorkeling! My husband shot this video with a little Flip-type camera and I edited out some of the worst of the sea motion between whale appearances. :) At least one of the whales came to within about 10 yards of the boat... which I have to admit made me a little bit nervous!

Though I did not shoot this video, I did do the editing to take out all the frames of rolling ocean with no whales in them! And I did my first ever upload to You Tube! Marvin had to do the video-ing because the rolling ocean was making my stomach roll too much to be able to stand up and shoot any video, let alone decent video! So, even though didn't shoot it, I am posting this to my project because I want to share this absolutely incredible experience with my many 365 friends... and I don't know if I will ever be this close to whales again.

I also do not have it posted on the date we actually saw the whales because I have 3 other photos on that date already.
Very cool video. Thank you for sharing. The ocean does look very wavy.

That is so amazing, and it must have been a thrill seeing them in action like that
