Lucky ducky me! I was doctoring a couple time last week trying to figure out what the heck was causing me so much pain in my back and abdomen... we eliminated kidney stones with a CT scan on Wednesday. On Thursday I started to develop a rash just above my waist starting at my spine and radiating out toward the left. Back to the doc and diagnosis of shingles was confirmed and 3 new meds plus some lidocaine pads were added to the pain pills I got on Wed. Let me tell you, shingles are not for sissies. The first couple of days before the rash broke out it felt exactly like kidney stones. If you have not had them you have no idea the pain involved... if you have, well you know what I am talking about.
Now before you get on your "shingles shot" soapbox I will tell you that when I got my pneumonia shot the PA would not give me the shingles shot because I take prednisone. I will, however, now go to my regular doctor and beg for the shot so I do not have to go through this again.
The pic above includes my regular night meds of allergy pill, thyroid and Metamucil. The new ones are a Hydrocodone, Lyrica, Valacyclovir and a couple of Tums so the meds don't upset my stomach so much. And, I just realized I forgot my calcium pill! Mornings look about the same, but some of the meds are different and get to wash them down with coffee. :)
Oh, No!!! Despite the fact that I think it is a terrific composition, I hate the reason! They look great on that new kitchen counter too! I can highly recommend the hydrocone too! Here is hoping it is a short bout!
@grammyn Funny that you mention composition. I did think of that when I placed the glass, but did nothing about the pill arrangement... that's just the way they fell when I laid them out.
@marilyn you know I am all about that composition! the OJ is what makes this shot in my opinion! I imagine you will be spending a little more time on 365 in your current condition! Whle I AM happy about that I am still so sorry for the cause and waiting to see if I get sympathy symptoms like the hot flashes!;~}
When you said about the rash I knew right away. Oh wow, they can be very painful. Thank goodness for the proper diagnosis and treatment. Speedy recovery
@digitalrn Thanks, Rick... I can't believe how dragged out it makes me feel. I felt pretty good Friday evening and Sat morning so decided I was up to a college football game... wrong! By the middle of the 3rd quarter I knew I had made a bad decision and hubs asked if I wasnted to leave. I said no and we stayed to the end because I knew my hubs really wanted to see the game. Today I feel a lot like I did the first day the rash came. The two days before the rash were much more painful and I hope I don't have that pain again.
