This is todays Miracle shot. I had gone to Wales again in search of the elusive Kingfishers, and found one !
However despite being very active, fishing and flying around and perching up regularly, he would not sit on perch I needed him on. I photographed him but not well enough for on here. I did however get a lot of other photos and was really spoilt for choice today, and quite a few were not birds.
Picked this in the end simply because it was so funny to watch. Its a Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) skating on thin ice.
@paulg Thanks Paul, Oh yes, I have sat in that hide before with an Arctic gale blowing through it as it has windows on both sides. Won't make that mistake again. Oh and a flask of soup helps.
