BUTTERFLY BUSH -THREE by markp

BUTTERFLY BUSH -THREE

Read any book or article about how to attract butterflies and bees into your garden, and one of the first things mentioned is to plant Buddleja. There are many different species, found naturally around the world in Asia, Africa and the Americas.
Commonly known as the Butterfly Bush, todays three posts, show it works very well at bringing butterflies into my garden.

This is a female Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni). The male is unmistakeable with its bright yellow upperwings, the female is white and could be mistaken for a Large White in flight but does not have the black spots. The underwings of the male are very similar to this female, just a slightly darker shade of green.
