BASALT COLUMNS, ISLE OF STAFFA by markp

BASALT COLUMNS, ISLE OF STAFFA

Similar features to the more well known Giant's Causeway in Ireland, these Basalt columns are formed by volcanic activity.
Fingals Cave is just to the right of this shot.

Although this shot makes it look very nice, unfortunately we were unable to land due to the sea conditions.

Just another reason to return.

Stunning, love how the contracting colours add to the blueness of the sea

Unbelievably wonderful color to that sea. I can see where it might have been difficult for a ferry to land! Super shot.
