Selective Focus - Experiment in Digital - Day 3

Best viewed with magnification... Better! Not quite there yet. However, I knew there should be a way to achieve this simple photography technique in digital without going into freaking macro mode to get it! Taking lots of trial and error...
Pretty! nice shot, :-)
Are you able to select where the camera focus is? My camera has an AF-area mode where I can change from single point focus to dynamic area.

@twinsplusone With digital, it's like learning all over again. LOL! I halfway knew what I was doing with my old film camera. Thank you, Sharon.

This is more beautiful Maggie. You are getting good at this. You mean you did this without using macro? How did you adjust it?

@princesicita The key is to let just enough light into the camera to focus on your subject - the aperture. Then to adjust your shutter speed up or down - depending on the amount of light. Then your zoom to focus. It was soooooo much easier with a film camera and the manual settings. I don't have that much control over some of the settings on this camera. I'll work some more on this subject today and see if I can't give you more specifics, Princess. =) Unless one of the pros here can and again, it depends on what you "can" control with your camera's settings. Some have a "dynamic" focus adjustment and some don't. Oiy! I guess this might be about as clear as mud! I'll work on it for you. =) Thank you for your lovely comments!
