The Carolina wild jasmine is budding - abundantly! I can already smell its heavenly scent. Really hope it's a good sign of better times to come. This is honestly NOT a great shot. Have been having trouble with my peepers. They're just tired and getting old which will happen to every single one of ya, if ya live long enough!
What a beautiful photo. Clear and blurred in the background so used your macro, right? You too, my eyes have been having problems also. Lots of drops to see and be pain free, then this headache. Tired eyes sometimes just need eye drops or rest or bifocals from the store to be able to see better. Your photos are all clear so your camera is doing its job and so are you as all photos are taken by the person behind the camera and yours are fantastic all the time. Take care.
@darsphotos Thank you very much, Darlene! I really appreciate your kind words and support! Yep, used macro mode for this shot. It's my eyeballs... I can see very good past 5 feet of me but, not so good close up. I have to use a huge magnifier to thread a needle and even then, it's a struggle. I'm sure I need new glasses and it's been over three years since my last eye exam but, it will have to wait and I'll just have to make do. =) I really hope your headache is all gone tomorrow so you can enjoy your weekend. I have yard work to do. But, I will enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.
Do they smell as sweet as I hope they do? I love all things Jasmine! Beautiful!
Thanks for all your kindness and support! I enjoy your photos and soon enough I will be congratulating you on your 365 shot! Keep snapping and happy weekend! :-)
I disagree. This photo looks fantastic on my computer screen! Lots of detail, clarity and color. Beautiful flower and how nice the scent spreads throughout your yard.
Beautiful jasmine . . love the smell. Love your focus. Don't apologize for this one, girl. Most of all, thanks for the Van Morrison song. LOVED it! I will definitely play that one again. Lots of great feeling and words there. Tearful for me.
@nicedof Thank you, JP! I am having a real hard time getting a clear shot of my macros but, I try.
@luvs2scuba2 Thank you, Elaine. I was trying for a closer shot and better comp, but my eyes were not cooperating with me!
@lorihiro Thank you so much, gal! If I make it to the 365th day. We'll see. They have an intoxicating scent! They are a wild vine around my little place and always beautiful with their permeating aroma carried on the breezes. Course, there's the wild wisteria, too! Now that's another lovely scent!
@mummarazzii I have such a hard time focusing my eyes on my macro shots. I wanted to get in much closer on these buds. Thank you for your comments and you will see many more of them in bloom. =)
@maggiemae Thank you, Maggiemae! I really wanted to get much closer but, my eyes just weren't cooperating yesterday.
@lizzy_lu123 Thank you so much, gal! Always appreciate the comments!
@aleksandra Thank you very much! Appreciate your kind comments!
@cimes1 Aww! Carole, thank you very much! I really was trying to get in closer but my eyes were not cooperating. Maybe can get closer today. =)
@cindyrez Ahh, you listened to the song. You were probably the only one. Van Morrison can be so soothing at time. Thank you for your lovely comments, Cindy! Really appreciate you! I know you will probably see lots of Jasmine from others as well as me, too! It's a wild vine in the southeast.
@myautofocuslife Wish i could bottle the scent, myself, gal! =) Along with the wild wisteria and honeysuckle. =) Thank you for your lovely and thoughtful comments! Much appreciated!
@copperheadglass Aww! Meredith, you are so kind and I thank you! I really wanted a tighter shot but, my old eyes just weren't cooperating yesterday.
@deburahiru Thank you, Deb! I love the wild ones most of all and they are so very fragrant!
@redrucksack Thank you so much, Eva! Appreciate your comments.
@klemieux My heat pump and electric bills would argue with you about that, Ken. Although we haven't had too many hard freezes this winter. Hoping all these buds won't get hit by frost because they are budding way too early! They really shouldn't bud and bloom until mid March. Thank you for your comments and the view!
@karenann You are only one of two that played the song! Van Morrison can be so very soothing at times and I love that song! I didn't mean it to be tearful for anyone though. =) Thank you for your very thoughtful and lovely comments! I really wanted a tighter shot of the buds but my eyes did not want to cooperate yesterday. Maybe today. You are a treasure and light to 365, Karen! Please do not change in these ways of yours. =)
@wannabe Ahh! You were only the third to listen to the song! Van Morrison can be very soothing to me sometimes. Thank you for your kind and lovely comments, Catherine! Much appreciated!
@loragill Thank you, Lora! The jasmine is budding early! Hoping a frost doesn't hit it before it can fully bloom. Shouldn't bud until mid March.
@litljen Jennifer, you are too sweet! I hope it's a sign of things to come for everyone. Thank you for your lovely and thoughtful comments! Much appreciated!
great detail and it's nice to see all those green shades since i'm still only seeing snow and mud, lol so if these are Carolina Jasmine does that mean there are different kinds of Jasmine?? i didn't know that. I looooove the smell of Jasmine!
@laurentye Thank you, Lauren! This is a wild vine that grows all over the southeast but, it is the South Carolina state flower. There are many other types of jasmine that different. There's confederate jasmine which has a white star like flower and smells much sweeter. There's also the jasmine that grows in Eygpt which scent Cleopatra used to snare Mark Anthony. I don't believe the commercial products use Carolina Jasmine to make their scents. It's more than likely the Eygpt variety but, I sure would like to bottle this stuff! LOL! Thank you for your sweet and thoughtful comments! Always happy to see you! =)
lol at not a great shot. agreed, but in saying that is has a realness to it. I just want to reach out and brush off those white 'things', aphids whatever. haha . cheers mate
@esmeanne Thank you for your honesty. The white things are in the vine. Keep in mind this is a wild vine and its leaves battled the fall and winter. Its new leaves won't push the old ones off until after it has bloomed. Its putting all of its energy into flowering now. However, the vines without buds are producing new leaves already. I'm afraid this little warm spell is forcing it to spurt new growth and buds too early. I know we are apt to get several more mornings of frost before old man winter goes away for a while. It happened to the wild wisteria last year and killed all the abundant new buds.
This is so pretty! I love those vibrant greens, and the detail is just lovely! Everything up here is still brown, so that makes this shot even more appealing to me.
@melissapike Afraid we're still in for some frost. Those buds may not make it and that will be sad for me. Thank you for your very lovely comments. Much appreciated! But, your pics blow me away! =)
