Ye Old Woodpile... by marlboromaam

Ye Old Woodpile...

I might be one third of the way done with trimming the front and back yards. Still have to move all of this old wood to the trailer so it can be hauled to the land fill. This will take a whole day to do. Wonder how many copperheads I'll find in that woodpile... I need an extra arm to hold the hoe and and extra pair of eyes to watch for where they crawl out of or into. Lots of sweating yet to do around here! Care to join me? Ha ha! Didn't think so. Was a cloudy gray rainy day, so I ran my errands. Spent this evening taking pics and surveying the rest of the work to be done outside. Will have to get more done tomorrow.
Hehe love your title Maggie! Looks like a lot of had work. I'll send my husband...lol. No wait he doesn't do "hard labor" such a sissy! Cool processing! Have a great weekend!
March 10th, 2012
Some nice HDR action there
March 10th, 2012
Cool processing -- when I'm working up a sweat with chores around the house, I just think how I'm saving so much money by getting a workout at home rather than going to the gym. lol. (That's really just me trying to make myself feel better for not working out). Hope the copperheads keep their distance!
March 10th, 2012
@heidievans73 LOL! It is hard labor but, a little hard labor never hurt anyone that I know of any how! Thank you for your comments, Heidi! Hope you have a great weekend, too!

@klemieux Thank you very much, Ken!
March 10th, 2012
Beautiful processing and point of view
March 10th, 2012
Great DOF. I also like the green tinge in the fence and trees.
March 10th, 2012
@rockinrobyn Thank you, Robyn! I know what you mean about a workout. I sleep better when I've worked hard and have a little satisfaction in a job well done. Yeah, I wish I could blow a whistle and they'd all leave like a life guard telling everyone to get out of the pool! LOL! Unfortunately, they aren't too cooperative and I'll have to have the sulfur and ammonia out and ready to keep them from crawling in the tool and tack shed. Oiy!
March 10th, 2012
I thought the extra arm was to take a pic of the copperhead. No? :-)
March 10th, 2012
Obviously you can't burn that wood as firewood? You could set fire to the whole lot and stand back - away from the snakes!
March 10th, 2012
I like it!
March 10th, 2012
@kerristephens Thank you very much, Kerri! Really appreciate your comments!

@rach_who Thank you so much, Rachel!

@johns366 LOL! For that I'd need a fourth arm and another head! No, I can't afford to get bit. No health insurance! Thanks for your comments, John!
March 10th, 2012
@maggiemae It's rotten, Maggiemae. Won't burn at all. Tried that this winter. I think most of it will crumble into pieces when I move it. Having a spray bottle of ammonia will help some. Thank you for your comments and I really do appreciate your suggestion!

@amers79 Thank you, Amy!
March 10th, 2012
Good luck Mags, I'm glad it's not me that has to clear it.
March 10th, 2012
@sugarmuser Yeah... LOL! Thank you for that, Sharon!
March 10th, 2012
Beautiful photo, Maggie! Love the pov and the processing. The amazing shots that you get with your camera are something else. You must be so tired . . this is alot of work for you to do alone. I'd love to help. Stay away from the copperheads . . thing is, they better watch out for you!! You have a gorgeous piece of property!
March 10th, 2012
beautiful processing there maam...
March 10th, 2012
I love that fence line!
March 10th, 2012
Really cool processing!!! Love the composition!! Copperheads? Yikes!!!
March 10th, 2012
That fence just goes on and on! Beautiful place, but does look like work. Nice processing on this one.
March 10th, 2012
Wow! That's a lot of work, - can you say danger pay? Nice fence line!
March 10th, 2012
Wow, you live in a pretty place. Love all of those trees. It's the woods! And man is that a lot of wood to clear. Watch out for those snakes!! Eeek! Great photo, Maggie!
March 10th, 2012
nice shot and love the hdr possessing just right..no open burning where you are?
March 10th, 2012
Yikes! Be careful out there. Know how dangerous those snakes can be after your warnings. Love the processing on this and the awesome huge trees in the background!
March 10th, 2012

March 10th, 2012
Love your processing! I'm good with a shovel...don't have a hoe.
March 10th, 2012
Wow, you are super woman, Maggie. I know you have a lot to prune and do but this is way beyond what I dreamed of. Nice photo, love all the detail and colors. Good luck with moving all of it. Maybe one of the guys on here will offer to help if he lives close by. LOL
March 10th, 2012
Great textures! I love the green in the fence!
March 10th, 2012

March 10th, 2012
Love what you did with this shot - another great capture!
March 10th, 2012
Looks like great weather to be working up a sweat. Cool use of HDR. Why do you take old wood to tip? Can't you still use as firewood
March 10th, 2012
Great processing - love your HDR shots - really makes me want to give it a try. The light on the fence and the ground is so warm and works so well against the dark sky and tree line.
March 10th, 2012
Love your processing, good luck for the work !
March 10th, 2012
Very nicely done!
March 10th, 2012

March 10th, 2012
Omigosh that sounds like zero fun, Maggie :s The whole copperhead thing *shudder* Cant we just have a huge bonfire and roast marshmallows?! Those snakes won't know what hit them... Great leading lines.. Pulled my eyes straight thru your shot
March 10th, 2012
i am exhausted just looking at that! however, you have taken a lovely shot!
March 10th, 2012
Wow, that's a whole ton of work you have there! I'd come help... right up until you mentioned the copperhead part.
March 10th, 2012
love your hdr treatment! the colors are sublime! and i'd be flipping out about the copperheads. i am not an outdoorsy girl and the thought of snakes sends me running for the hills! LOL i can hardly deal with spiders and ants! i don't have to contend much with spiders out here in NJ but i do have to watch out for the black bears. they have overtaken our area in the last few years. UGH!
March 10th, 2012
@karenann Aww! Thank you so much, Karen. It's a lot of work, no doubt! Haven't even started on the garden yet. There is some satisfaction that comes from it though. I'll be as careful as I can be. =) Can't wait to get a nice shot when it's in a little better shape!
