My good neighbor is from Montana! Yeppers, and his parents have a farm there. He went for a visit a few months ago and asked if there was anything he could bring me back from the farm. He jokingly said he could bring me some old rusty horse shoes, even with nails still stuck in them... DUH! Me, the rust junkie - refuse that offer? NO WAY! LOL! He delivered. I knew I wanted to shoot them. Had no idea it would be for the weekly theme at this date and time.
@maggiemae I had no love for rust until last August after I joined 365, Maggiemae. LOL! I learned to love it. Thank you for your very kind comments! Most appreciated!
Oh and you caught them just Beautifully ! What a Great Pov! I just love all these rusty shots and this one is way up on top of the list!! I am still on the look out for mine! Maybe something Rusty my Dad left in the Garage! He was a Carpenter so he has tons of tools! And he loved to Garden to! Well this is a def fav for me! Good luck with your entry! :)
@ellimae Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments, Ellen! I just love rust. I honestly do not expect any of my rusty shots to place. I've already seen some excellent shots from others that should be in the top 5! Oh, do find some tools to shoot! There's always some rust in those items. =)
@msk1p2 365 made a rust junkie out of me when I joined last August! LOL! Do find some rusty junk! I'm liable to fav it! LOL! Thanks for dropping by, Sandra!
@marieooi Wow! Thank you for the kind remarks and the fav, Marie!
You knew I was gonna love this one! I still keep our old ones with the intent of making something with them. Maybe someday I will put the camera down long enough to do so. :-)
@copperheadglass Love old horseshoes and they make some really cool art and handy items out of them. Would be nice to see what you do with yours, Meredith!
@amandalomonaco LOL! Thank you for your kind comments and the fav, Amanda! Yep, just 22 more pics to go to 365. Then year two begins after I take a break and figure out a schedule for it.
Do you know in my country they hang a horse shoe above the door for good luck with the open bit pointing downwards. I wish they bring you luck! This picture is fantastically focused with great dof Magie! That steely grey of the background is ace for me too :)
@frida The luck runs out if you hang 'em that way! LOL! Got to hang them with the ends pointing up so the luck doesn't fall out. I love every word you wrote, Frida! Thank you so much!
Love rusty, crusty stuff like this; you did a great job with it for the theme.
Also, I took a breeze through your "365" and I am very impressed! Great use of macros and closeups, lots creative and disctinctive Nature photos, (which are my most oft "subjects') and I like your "Experiments" too. Altogether Wow! As for mediocre; NOT! I'll be seeing you, Take care, Les
(I'm sort of taking the summer off, so I probably won't be checking in with any regularity. )
@swguevin You are too sweet, Sheila! Thank you for your kind comments and the fav! Most appreciated!
@glimpses Thank you for your kind comments, Leslie! Have returned the follow and want to take a look at your albums when I work my way through the feed. I really appreciate your remark on the caliber of my pics. There's lots of room for improvement and I really want to take more landscapes and portraits. I really don't like "street photography" or urban grunge. So, you won't see me go there. I'm an old cowgirl at heart who has had to give up so much in this blood sucking economy - my job, my horse, my truck and I'm just trying to hold on to what I have left, my little home in the country. Really hoping things will turn around and soon!
Great shot with nice textures.
