Looking calm and quiet at the moment...

But I'm wondering how many will topple come Friday and Saturday.

As hurricane Ian is hammering Florida, remember the folks in your prayers. As it travels up the coast through parts of Georgia and South Carolina, the remnants will hit us on Friday. They say about six inches of rain in a short period of time with flash-flood warnings expected and lots and lots of wind. It's already windy here and the winds are expected to increase by Friday. Do you know what a lot of rain and wind do to trees? With the saturated ground and the rocking of the trunks back and forth from the wind - it means downed trees on power lines, homes, cars, etc. Batten down the hatches and go below!!!
I hope they stay standing. Terrible thinking of what is happening

Sending warm thoughts to people in the path of hurricane Ian. Hopefully the forecast will be exaggerated. Stay safe.

Waiting for the storm to hit is almost as nerve wracking as being in the center of the storm. I hope you ride it out safely!

A worrying time. I hope all is ok.

please stay safe, the winds are mind blowing

Ian is certainly hammering Florida but hopefully it will be much weaker when it gets to South Carolina.

@corinnec Thank you, Corinne. We do have some weather people that just love to sensationalize and politicize the weather forecast - when people just need the facts - not to be scared to death. I don't like those kind.

@lindasees Thank you, Linda.

@wakelys Thank you, Susan. We'll just have faith that it will be. =)

@koalagardens Thank you! We will try.

@k9photo Thanks, Kate. My favorite weatherman, John Farley, who is a no nonsense weatherman, says it will hit SC as a category 1 or tropical storm. Said some of us in the midlands will see six inches and winds 30 to 40 mph, but out of here by Saturday.

Definitely praying for everyone in that part of the country

I like the dark tones on this mags, one of your best woodland shots for a while

Nice capture. Hope that it weakens before it gets to your part of the world.

@phil_howcroft Thank you, Phil.

@larrysphotos It will probably downgrade to a tropical storm.

Hope you stay safe! The destruction Fiona left on our East Coast was heartbreaking. Homes swept out to sea, rows of 100+ year old trees toppled. Storms ain’t what they used to be…

@ljmanning I saw some footage on the news about that. It's hurricane season. Never know where one will hit or how far it will travel. We'll do our best to stay safe.
September 29th, 2022
I love the light in the trees. I hope you don’t have damage from Ian.
September 29th, 2022
I hope you manage to weather the storm when it hits and stay safe. My thoughts and best wishes are with you.

beautiful trees ... I hope you don't have damage from the hurricane. At least it is a little weaker now.
September 29th, 2022
Calm before chaos. I hope that the storm gives you, Will Connor and other's in your area just a light touch.
