From above, they looked like a black spot on the ground. Get down on your hands and knees and see so many of these tiny little shrooms with heads as small as straight pins. Better on black if you have the time.
How fascinating! Have you got a macro lens or extension tubes? You would get a fantastic image if you had. I am not sure what came you are using, and obviously if you don't have interchangeable lenses it wouldn't be so easy.
