The challenge will begin Sunday, May 13 and finish Saturday, May 19. Your pics should be dated on or between these dates. That gives you seven (7) days to get your shots.
You will need to post THREE (3) pics during this time and each pic must include...
1. light and shadow in your composition
2. your WHOLE mirror
ONE of your pics MUST be in BLACK and WHITE
ONE of your pics MUST include a PARTIAL SELFIE with you and your camera in the reflection.
Please tag your posts "sc-mirror" so I may (with the help of some great folks here) find and pick the best of the series for voting. I think we can all do it in a regular post. I don't think there's enough willing participants to warrant posting in discussions.
Just look at the beautiful light on those trees above! LOL! I don't like selfies either, so you get the idea!
I know many of you can really do some marvelous work and put my little series to shame! Let's see those gorgeous mirror shots! Any questions, just holler?
beautiful tones maggie , i like your mono work ...oh and your hair looks almost blonde in the little selfie ....i would enter your challenge but I would struggle to get all my shots in !!!
Your picture is great as per usual, you seem to have beautiful lighting always, much better than our two months of grey so far!
Great camera holding technique BTW!!! I was just ranting about this subject to my partner much to her dismay! I do not believe the snobbery that surrounds it. There is no correct way in my eyes, I wonder what they would say if they saw my technique, I use walls and the floor as my hand or this one would really get there goat, sometimes I just hold my camera in a position that I think is there abouts and I don't compose or even use the viewfinder, RAH! :)
@joeboxster LOL! No, I really do have on a tank top! Thank you, Joe!
@teamoliver You are too kind, Eddie! Thank you for your lovely comments and I really don't think there's a right way to hold the camera either, as long as you don't get fingers in the way - what's the difference?!!!
@yonnie Thank you, Yvonne! You can do it! I know you can!
This photo came out fantastic, Maggie. I love it in B&W. How do you take a photo without you being in it and just having what you set up for it. I only have one mirror that may work but has decoration like stained glass close to the edge and all the way around.
@darsphotos Thank you, Darlene! Appreciate your comments! You have to shoot at an angle! Place the mirror on the ground, walk around, look at the mirror, see all the different views, use the best vantage point! You'll figure it out!
@marlboromaam Thank you, Maggie, will try it out and see how it works. On partial selfie will have that edge on it also. Can I take all three photos on one day?
@cdonohoue Check Wally World, Cathy! They're light weight and very inexpensive. That's where mine came from! Thank you so much and I look forward to seeing your shots!
@marlboromaam Good call. I am also looking in tomorrow's paper for coupons to Michael's. Do you have them. They always have half price stuff. That cool frame came from WalMart? Wow. Looks antique to go with what you are doing.
@marlboromaam You'll be pleased to know that I think I have got it sorted ;) lol.
Oh and what exactly do you mean by this: " I think we can all do it in a regular post. I don't think there's enough willing participants to warrant posting in discussions."?
@ozziehoffy Normally, a topic is created and the challenge or theme is posted in "Discussions." I just posted in in a normal post with the pic right here. Glad to know you've got it sorted out, too!
@rah2012 Just 3 shots! LOL! You'll get it and thank you for your kind comments!
Well I have fallen behind on the site. I just saw this an already missed Sunday and havent purchased a mirror yet lol. My week may be too crazy to participate this time around. Do you have to have shots for everyday?
@pammerritt Just 3 shots for the series, Pam, and you can shoot them on the same day if you want to. Just need to be taken between now and Saturday. You can do it!
I'm so sorry that I didn't see this challenge. . .I enjoyed watching people's shots who are participating, though, so I'll have to keep an eye out for things like this for next time!
