Can you tell about what time it is by the shadows? Do you know your sunlight? When are the shadows the darkest in the woods? When are they the longest? These are all good things to know when you want to shoot around lots of trees and shade.
It's shadow time. I'll guess it was 9:48 am:). Is it early in the day and later in the afternoon the shadows are the longest? Great woods. I like this shot in b&w, but I'll bet it was really pretty in color, too. I am loving the greens now that I am back east again. It was so golden in CA.
I agree with Cromwell, probably noonish, but it is hard to tell in black and white. It is hard for me to get a feeling of the length of the shadows. NIce light and shadow play.

I need to do more research about the light. When I get back home I am going to go out and pay more attention. I think you would make such a wonderful photography teacher. You are so patient and you do a great job. WONDERFUL shot!!!!
Since I have been doing this project, I have taken heaps of notice of the sun. A lot of the time I have been too late to capture something outside due to not paying attention to the sun. Beautiful image, lovely light & shadow
