I wish I had taken a shot of this old smoker before I took it apart. To make a long story short... A friend of mine hauled it over here a few years ago. Never used it and never picked it up or hauled it off. Some of you know I've been doing a lot of clean up around my place and I'm trying to haul off what I can't use to the dump.
Well, this thing was soooo heavy! I couldn't lift it by myself and I thought it was made of some kind of cast iron or other metal. So, I figured that if I took it apart, it would be easier for me to manage and load on the trailer to haul to the dump.
Once I got the top and bottom separated and took out the guts, I discovered the top and bottom were made of clay!!! It was then that I decided I would repurpose it into large flower pots! Ha ha! They have so much texture and the top and bottom have a hole for drainage. I'm happy!
@yvonnekishna I appreciate your honesty. I added the soft focus edges in processing to mask some ugliness in the pic. Thank you for your comments. Really appreciate your time!
I LOVE the whole photo, Maggie..... AND I am so jealous of your new "flower pots!" I think that it's a fantastic idea. I can just picture the gorgeous flowers filling those and hanging over the edges. WOW, wow, wow.
@karenann LOL! Jealous of these pots? Pah-lease! Thank you, Karen! I love your comments! I can picture it, too! The real thing will have to wait a while when I have a disposable income to put something in it. Ha!
@cdonohoue Thank you, Cathy! Appreciate your kind remarks. That shot will have to wait a while though. I still keep on searching for a job so I can pay for little things like that.
@danette Thank you, Danette! Appreciate your visit!
@carolinedreams Me, too! Thank you so very much for your comments, Caroline! xo
@beckys Thank you, Becky! LOL! That will be a while. Have to have some disposable income for some gravel, good potting soil and a few plants... Unless I try to cultivate something wild in them, but I've not had much luck with that in the past.
@janets Thank you, Janet! I can't wait either. I may just have to use the gravel in my driveway and shovel some dirt from the woods and dig up some wild plants. LOL!
@daisy Thank you very much, Kathryn! I'm glad to know you think so, too!
@vickisfotos Thank you, Vicki! I thought they'd work fine as flower pots.
Maggie, great shot and you've given me an idea to gather together all my empty flower pots and start working on some plant cuttings. It's amazing what one finds when cleaning up. The cobwebs work so well with this photo.
@cimes1 Oh! That was an ugly floor mat that I blurred out! Thanks for letting me know. I really thought I was going blind and had missed the cobwebs some how. LOL!
@kerristephens Thank you, Kerri!
@cdonohoue Thank you, Cathy! Appreciate your kind remarks. That shot will have to wait a while though. I still keep on searching for a job so I can pay for little things like that.
