What's in Your Backyard? 2

The garden space and burn barrel are on the far left. No garden this year. Behind the garden space is the empty chicken house and pen. Then the tool and tack shed and behind that is the empty corral and round pen. Course, to the right is the screen house that I pulled all the ivy vines off of back in the spring. On the other side of the screen house are the bird feeders and birdbath.

Shot in black and white mode - NO conversion.

Still trying to stay ahead, before I start to fall behind this week.
It's a big yard

@peterdegraaff It is a big backyard, Peter! LOL! It's still not as big as the front yard though. Takes me twice as long to mow the front as it does the back.

Takes alot of work to keep that up! You do it nicely. Nice photo.

You live on a huge piece of property.
And you care for it so very well - must be love.

nice in b&w

I wish I had a huge yard like that so I could let the dogs hang out there.

@beckys Thank you, Becky! LOL! I don't do as well as I should! I don't do too well in the heat of summer around here.

@cdonohoue It's just 2.53 acres, Cathy! I do love my little country place. It's my sanctuary! Thank you for your kind comments!

@pawar_ramesh Thank you, Ramesh!

@cromwell LOL! It's not fenced for dogs, Cromwell. And, one bite from a copperhead or rattler will kill a small dog real fast! I don't let Jack run loose when I keep him. I take him out on his leash so he won't get into a snake or run up the drive into the road where they do about 60 or 65 mph.

A lovely back yard, and beautifully kept. It looks good in b&w too.
August 13th, 2012
The b&w shows up the detail; it is lovely; our back yard is tiny - less to mow;0)

@windridge Thank you for your kind comments, Susan! Most appreciated!

@claireuk LOL! Sometimes I wish I had less to mow. But, if I had to live in a housing development or apartment complex again, I think it would kill me! I love and appreciate my privacy and freedom too much out here in the country. Thank you for you sweet comments, Claire!

I love your yard, Maggie. Have you kept chickens at one time? You said the coop is empty now. Thanks for sharing!
August 13th, 2012
What a lovely yard you have. So much that has gone on there.
August 13th, 2012
My goodness, mine would be a shot of the grass and a couple of trees. Yours is absolutely beautiful. How do you ever stay on top of all the work that must be done. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

@deburahiru Thank you very much, Deb! xo

@simon0128 Thank you, Simon! Appreciate your kind comments!

@cindyrez Thank you, Cindy! It is shady, except for the hottest time of the day when the sun is directly overhead.

@sanfil Thank you so much, Sandra!

@tryeveryday You are very kind, Michelle! Thank you for your comments!

@rmkk Appreciate your sweet comments, Marlene! Thank you! I did have some wonderful chickens and some beautiful roosters. A possum got every single one of them over a period of a couple of weeks. There was nothing I could do except camp out down there at night with a shot gun. I thought I did manage to get three bullets in it one night when I heard the commotion from up at the house, but apparently - I just wounded it. Possums are so mean! They rip their heads off leave the poor dead carcasses to grow fly larvae on the rotting flesh and then come back and feast on it. I buried so many chickens. Wasn't going to let the damn varmints enjoy their kills of my poor chickens!

@lynnb Thank you, Lynn! At one time, yes. Maybe in a few months or in the next couple of years, I can put back in place what was lost. =)

@yonnie You are too sweet, Yvonne! Thank you for your kind comments! Believe me, I don't always stay on top of things. It's very hard sometimes without help.

August 13th, 2012
Wow, you have a great backyard.
Hope you have a great day tomorrow!
August 13th, 2012
Beautiful b&w ...lovely yard! I feel like I know so much about this yard already! Piece by piece, I've gotten to know most of this. What would be nice would be to add a few chickens back there and maybe a horse once again!! But, for now, you've got your hands full. One step at a time, Maggie. With ya all the way. :)
August 14th, 2012
