Carolina long needle pines... by marlboromaam

Carolina long needle pines...

They're a big renewable resource in South Carolina. I like the way the needles reminded me of fur. However, they can snap like tooth picks in strong winds or uproot and fall over in ice storms. Not a tree you'd want in your landscape, or close to your house in a hurricane. Still, they have a beauty all their own. Shot in black and white mode - no conversion and another filler for the day. May be filler for another week while I visit the hospital.
I like the pines trees. Closer to the December holidays I like to use those pines for some x-mas decoration artwork.

@dutchothotmailcom They can make nice decoration. Pine cones will add a nice scent in an open fire too.

They look so much nicer on the tree, so says a girl who bagged ten 50-gal bags of needles today.

@cocobella They do look fluffy!

@joysabin I used to say I'd rather rake leaves than needles. I just let the mulching blades on the mower grind them up. =)

@ludwigsdiana Very kind, Diana! Thank you!

@wakelys Thanks, Susan!
