Wild Carolina jasmine on the deck...

Shot in black and white.

I thought I had a new camera, but I'm taking it back to the store. You can't take macros with it unless the lens is wide open and you get on top of your subject which scares it away - or scares you away. You can't zoom in on macro mode! I'm talking about the Kodak PixPro AZ528. Last night, I learned that Kodak EasyShare, which is out of business and the maker of my old camera, is NOT the same producer of the Kodak PixPro cameras. None of the PixPro cameras are fit for macros as I found out talking to a Kodak PixPro customer service rep last night. She said the lens has to be wide open and you have to get on top of your subject. Like I want to get on top of a spider or a bee... Right. I was so disappointed because I've been very happy with my very versatile little Kodak EasyShare Z1012 IS. I can zoom in on tiny things, I just can't get down too tiny or things get grainy. So, I'll keep using it until I can find another good versatile camera that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.

My old Kodak takes pretty good video too! I think I paid about $150 for it in 2009. It's come in very handy in the past and still takes passable images. I just wanted something that would take sharper images with a few more pixels. So... if you have read this far and you know of any good versatile cameras that won't require a second mortgage on my house, give me a holler! I'm still looking for one.

I do NOT want to get into an expensive camera and different lens for every different use. Did that with a film camera - camera body, normal lens, telephoto lens, wide angle lens, about 35 different filters and special-effect lens attachments, flash, light meters, and I don't remember what else is in that camera suitcase. I think the last time I shot film with it was around 2005.

And that's my camera review for today! LOL!
Does very well in b&w

Gorgeous clarity in this black & white. Sorry that the new equipment is not as useful as hoped.

@ljmanning Thank you, Laura! It's not bad for a 12-year-old 10 pixel Kodak. =)

Bummer about the new camera, hopefully you'll find something that works better for you. Meanwhile, I really like this take on the vine/fencing. Really nice!
