I've been so pleased with my squirrel-proof bluebird houses that I bought two more from my acquaintance who builds them. There are now three out front and four in the back and 30 feet or more apart - of course. This one is about eight feet up in the water oak. Shot in black and white.
@dutchothotmailcom LOL! It's the metal ring around the hole. It keeps the squirrels from gnawing them up and making the hole bigger so they can nest in them.
@ljmanning Thank you, Laura! One in the back is occupied by bluebirds and two in the front are occupied by bluebirds. I'm hoping a couple of chickadees will move into one soon. Raspberry finches are always a possibility too. =)
@kjarn Thank you, Kathy! Female bluebirds like options. Chickadees and Raspberry finches don't care. =)
@pamalama Thank you, Pam! Bluebirds like the houses facing east and at least five feet off the ground with lots of shrubs or bushes nearby for the fledglings to hide in while they learn to fly and take off. =)

@dkellogg Thank you, David! Or chickadees. =)
@dutchothotmailcom Or, you could just buy a bluebird house and have hubby screw the metal ring on the hole. =)
