My roses are burning up in the hot sun. Their petals fry and curl. The blossoms don't last nearly as long as they did in the late spring. Still surprised a few more buds have popped up and will bloom in the next day or two.
Trying to stay a little ahead here before things get a little hectic.
Stunning shot, Maggie. Some summers I have to put up shade cloth tied from the house to a tree to give more protection to my birds nest ferns... they just don't like that burning sun, do they! Still a beautiful rose :)

Gorgeous shot. Great lighting. My flowers are burning up too. My city has just issued a water use caution. I will have to carefully select which plants I continue to water.
@daisy Thank you, Kathryn! Just one hot dry summer for too many folks! I do water some of my plants with the dishwater and they seem to like it! I have saved bathwater, too for watering. Wish I had a gray water system and a way to capture any rain water for the plants and garden, but that's a spendy proposition for me.

Gorgeous shot with the most beautiful lighting on that rose. We're getting a lot of rain here in the afternoons, which really helps cool things off. Just the opposite here.....our flowers are getting all droopy from the rain.
