A fresh view of the wash...

Hurricane Joaquin made South Carolina history in 2015 with the "rain train" that dumped more than 23 inches in 18 hours. This wash was a river overflowing the banks carrying leaves, dead wood, debris, and critters to where I don't know. If you can imagine - nothing but sand was left here when it was over. All the top soil in the yards had washed away. A river ran down the drive and around both sides of the house washing everything loose in its path. Water is a powerful force - don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.
The power of nature and water in particular.
(Probably partly why Clare “worries” every time I go rowing…)

@ludwigsdiana It was a nightmare, Diana! They said it was a 1000-year flood. So hoping NOT for another 1000 years.

@dutchothotmailcom Stay safe, Esther!

@koalagardens Thank you!

Wow... that must have been something. Did you get a shot of it filled with water?

@kvphoto Very scary, KV! No, but I took video after it was over of the parts of the roads missing with huge drop-offs, giant ruts in the driveway, water lines around the house, trees uprooted, etc.

Nature is a great force. And man is part of nature and must obey its rules.
