This is SOOC and shot 1/1/21. I emptied the rain gauge yesterday at two and a quarter inches. I emptied it today at two and a half inches. That's nearly five inches in three days, and we have more rain on the way tonight. Flash flood warnings out for this area. Turn around don't drown, etc.
My first 365 resolution is... I'm not going to continue to rotate between horizontal and vertical images or between macro or scene shots. It will be what it will be. Que sera, sera! Between you and me - no one noticed anyhow. Not like nine years ago.
My second resolution is... get better using my phone's camera - learn its limitations, etc. I still have more I'm still working out in my head.
I have got to get a rain gauge - I wouldn't doubt that we were close to what you got- supposed to stop tommorrow for two days. This is sure dark and dreary for 1:00
@milaniet As of this morning, I think it's over for us for a day or two. Rain gauges are great for keeping up with what you get. The weather said "three inches with more in spots." I think this are is one of those "more" spots. I see some sunlight this morning trying to peek out behind the clouds. =)
@wakelys I do think you get more rain than we do. But from time to time, we do get real soaked. The ground is saturated! High winds would uproot trees in the wet dirt.
@haskar I really don't know. I've read a lot of junk science about global warming and/or climate change. Any reputable scientists who disagree with it, get shut up real fast - which I find very strange in itself. There seems to be no room for debate on the matter. I've also read that the activity of the sun has a bigger effect on our climate than soccer mom's driving their SUVs. I always follow the money when it comes to these things and that tells me some things without so many exact words. The oil companies or the green deal companies? It would seem the envy and greed of each will rule us all.
@kjarn Thank you, Kathy! I don't mind wet gray days for a day or two. After that, it gets a little depressing, ya know?
It's okay about not noticing those little things. When I asked for suggestions here nine years ago, it was one of them among others. So I got in the habit of it. No more. =)
