What's been eating me? by marlboromaam

What's been eating me?

I think this is Rudbeckia hirta (Woodland Black-Eyed Susan) but, the description says the blooms are supposed to be two to three inches across and this one is less than one inch across. Perhaps a dwarfed variety? It is armed with stiff hairs which are supposed to keep insects from climbing it. So it must be something with wings that has eaten on this little wildflower. @k9photo I think they're in the same family. These are just too small to be what I thought they were. I'm wondering if there's a dwarf species.
