I think this is Rudbeckia hirta (Woodland Black-Eyed Susan) but, the description says the blooms are supposed to be two to three inches across and this one is less than one inch across. Perhaps a dwarfed variety? It is armed with stiff hairs which are supposed to keep insects from climbing it. So it must be something with wings that has eaten on this little wildflower.
