Crotalaria Spectabilis Seed Pods...

Or Showy Rattlebox seed pods. Someone had mentioned that it was an usual name. The pods dry out and the seeds inside loosen on their tiny stems and fall down inside the hard and hollow pod. So when the wind catches the pod, the seeds inside will "rattle." I've witnessed it with my own ears and eyes. It sounds just like a rattle snake. Thus, the name - Showy for the bright yellow flower, and Rattlebox for the dried seeds inside which make the sound of a rattle. If you couldn't tell by the flower that it's in the pea family, those pods should tell you it is. They look just like peas. =)

This photo was taken August 2012 when I had just finished my first year with 365 Project. I kept up my membership, but my job kept me from taking any photos until I had to quit this past March. I really miss the folks who used to be here, but looking forward to building new 365 friendships. =)
Thanks for the interesting information about them.

I see a similar seed pod (and flower) when on our walks at the state park where we camp. Thanks for providing a name for the plant.
