Ice fun

Overall, lakes and canals are not safe enough to walk or skate on yet. The reckless and stupid are always the first to try. Unfortunately the first fatalities have already been listed.

Much fun skating on local ponds and ditches though! Typical Dutch.
Round the clock: one foot balance act; goalie; dressing room; attention, ice hole; cake and hot choc, fire for the necessary heat.

The wether was more than perfect, -12° but windless. And the ice was super smooth without any cracks. Only downside was the snow but it could be wiped away pretty easily.

great collage! this was something I used to do when I was a kid in Washington State: we skated on a nearby pond in the winter. Fun! But I remember always being very careful and testing the ice, listening for the cracking sounds!
